Originally we maintained two church buildings, one Baptist and one Presbyterian. We met in the Baptist Church during July and August because the building had no electricity. On Palm Sunday, March 24, 1991, the church was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. A beautiful pavilion in the shape of a cross was built in its place, along with placement of a monument with an etching of the church and the date of the fire.
